What we do

Research and Evaluation

We design and deliver participatory research studies and evaluations and provide clear recommendations that people and organisations can act on.

Methods for data collection and analysis include desk reviews, surveys, interviews, focus group discussions and workshops. We apply an inclusive approach to better ensure we capture the voices of those at risk of not having it heard.

Recently, we facilitated a research study into factors enabling violence against women and girls in Wandsworth and what could be done about it. The study in which 150 people participated prompted the design of The Big Reshape programme.

Additionally, we recently conducted an independent evaluation for Hanwell Big Local and completed an evaluation for Islington Council, together with True Research.

Community Engagement and Facilitation

We facilitate community connection and encourage collective action around shared goals.

As part of The Big Reshape programme, we have been bringing people together to imagine a nicer world. So far, we have brought together over 400 children and adults to paint what this looks like to them. We have been showcasing this artwork in libraries and other public spaces in Ealing, Wandsworth and Westminster together with tips on what we can do to look after ourselves, each other and the environment. Most recently, we had a pop-up featuring 186 pieces of art created by children from five Westminster primary schools at Paddington Library.

More to come this school year!

Work with children and young people

In addition to the work under The Big Reshape, we work with children to equip them with confidence, skills and tools to support their learning; to nurture friendships; and be the best versions of themselves.

We do this through work in schools during core hours and in term time but also through after-school clubs and camps during the holidays.

For example, during the last school year, we ran an after-school club in a primary school in Fulham where the children were supported to tell their stories, ending with a performance to parents and carers. In the summer, we are running a creative camp in the summer holidays in Battersea.

Advisory, training and project support

We provide a range of support to social sector organisations in all areas of their work. We work with the organisation to determine their needs and develop a support plan accordingly.

Areas we can help with include theory of change design, M&E frameworks, strategy development, advocacy and interim project leadership.

Most recently, we provided advice and support to Big Local SW11 and Hanwell Big Local through Local Trust. We are also on the Battersea Alliance preferred suppliers list.
